Recent deployment 08/09/2023:
Cadent who are ‘the largest natural gas distribution network in the United Kingdom’ contacted us when they discovered what they suspected to be a badger sett entrance during gas work in Lincolnshire/Humberside. Our volunteers, who are also committee members for the Lincolnshire Badger Group (Affiliated with The Badger Trust), visited the site on their behalf. We erected our mobile wildlife CCTV cameras to get the real answer about who the hole belongs to…
Soon after, CCTV captured footage of two foxes!
Many will be aware that foxes do not have the same protection as badgers, and for this reason we would like to pass our thanks to Cadent for their wildlife-friendly approach to this situation. They have been fantastic in ensuring the safety of the foxes, including leaving any works which could risk the collapse of their den. We’re now nearly a month since the initial report and footage is still captured daily of their activities.
